Advent Prayer

Heavenly Father,
In this season of Light,
that ironically is in the darkest time of the year,
It is with uplifted hearts that we Joyfully give
thanks for all Your blessings we enjoy.
Until we surrender all our earthly wants and needs
and abandon all our worries and concerns,
placing them at your table,
are we able to meet Christ each new day and
recognize His presence in all who we meet.
Only in Christ do we discover the true essence of
Your creation - OUR Salvation.
When we place our hope in You,
all faith is fulfilled.
So in this season of Advent,
let us welcome Him home into our hearts,
Your Son and our Lord,
our protector and spiritual guide,
our Redeemer and vessel of all earthly Joy.
May we find the Light in our darkness,
the faith in our doubt
and the reassurance of love
in a world of unknowns.
