My Own Heart 1/27/02

One, spring day blooming
My heart, in joyful assuming
When in our Lord’s ascending
From death, to life transcending
Shed fear and sorrow forever
Opened hearts to salvations endeavor
Thy hope, in hopeful passing
Thy love, in soul caressing
When my own death – time, is calling
No fear, or thought comes falling
He, in splendor will approach
My soul, my being, He will broach
Your eternal word I prayerfully seek
At times, my own heart, neither gentle nor meek
Accepting your evening call to will
My own heart, you enter and fill
My own heart, quiets – still
Then my own heart, becomes quiet, and stills
